We must protect our Reception Staff
The pandemic has seen a change in how GP Surgeries operate, with telephone appointments being introduced instead of face to face appointments for the safety of staff and patients.
Patients have shown their frustration at these changes, with Receptionists who are often the first point of contact for these services bearing the brunt.
Staff at one surgery have reported having things thrown at them by patients demanding to see a doctor and even being threatened by one who said: "I know where you live." Zero Tolerance
A Practice Manager at a Surgery in Port Talbot, says the abuse directed at her staff has got worse.
“We have had people throw things at our Receptionists, use foul language, screaming and shouting, throwing furniture and damaging furniture, screaming in their face, making threats.
“A lot of us feel very stressed and maybe less equipped to deal with this kind of abuse.”

Staff Reception Framed Security Screens

Glass Reception Protection Hatch was fitted last week for a large Global organisation as specified by the Architect. Toughened glass, speech Transfer Unit along with vinyl manifestations in a bespoke frame for the existing desk had all been designed and fitted within three weeks from start to finish. Out of hours working gave the organisation a helping hand with logistics.

Sliding Lockable Hatches
The versatile sliding lockable hatch is the perfect solution to allow staff to safely transfer large or small packages to customers or pupils without putting them in any danger. This Aluminium framed hatch has just been installed in a North London School. The criteria for the project was to still have a fresh clean look but giving the staff full protection when needed.
